Locality
Sisters Beach is located on
Tasmania's remote, northwest
coast and is surrounded
by the Rocky Cape National
Park. It is the perfect
getaway for those seeking a
quiet, relaxing break in the
midst of Tasmania's famous,
natural beauty. The Rocky
Cape National Park offers
many opportunities to enjoy
the serenity; the Rocky Cape
Lighthouse being just one.
Among the natural wonders
surrounding Sisters Beach
is the world famous Cradle
Mountain, just an hourand-
a-half from the home.
While, an hour-and-a-half
in the opposite direction is
the Tarkine. Not only is this
Australia's largest rainforest,
but it is also thought to have
the greatest concentration
of Aboriginal sites in the
country. Indeed the name
Tarkine is derived from the Tarkiner Aboriginals who once
lived in the area.
For a change of pace,
the small towns dotted
throughout the north-west
are delightful. Penguin to
the east is a must to visit on
a Sunday, when the Markets
are held. These are the
largest undercover markets
in Tasmania. To the west is
Stanley, a seaside fishing
town, famous for the iconic
"Nut". A chairlift ride can be taken to the top.
