Locality
Not only are there plenty of
things to do in Nelson Bay
itself, it is the ideal location
from which to explore
the natural wonders and
attractions of Port Stephens.
Port Stephens is Blue Water
Paradise, the permanent
home of 160 bottlenose
dolphins, and port-in-passing
for over 3,000 migrating
humpback whales, less than
two kilometres from shore.
Nearby national parks offer
many bushwalks and secluded
coastal walking trails.
There's great snorkelling
off Little Beach and, for a
truly amazing view, nothing
beats paragliding behind a
speed boat. Four-wheel-drive
enthusiasts are catered for
and will love the famous sand
dunes of Stockton Beach.
For those seeking a more
tranquil exploration of Port
Stephens you can hire a bike
from Shoal Bay. There are also
boat hire facilities in Nelson
Bay Marina and a ferry service
that can take you across the
bay to Tea Gardens and
Hawks Nest.
While you're there, don't
forget to select your own
fresh fish, prawns and oysters
from the fish markets at
the marina! |
