Locality
The Tasman Peninsula is one
of the most beautiful parts
of Tasmania, with rugged
coastlines, white beaches,
spectacular sunsets and
diverse wildlife. The Tasman
National Park has a variety
of bushwalks to cater to
everyone and many of its
attractions can be accessed
by car. The beaches on
the Tasman Peninsula are
gorgeous and the perfect
place to relax and enjoy the
sunsets.
For the adrenaline junkie,
the Tasman Peninsula has
some of Tasmania's best
diving with giant kelp forests,
shipwrecks or sea caves to
explore; activities that cater
to all levels of experience.
If extreme surfing is more
your style, Shipstern's Bluff
may tempt you or the surf off
Eaglehawk Neck, which is less
extreme but a lot of fun.
The Port Arthur Historic
Site is a must-see and for
something extra, check out
the Coalmines Historic Site
in nearby Saltwater River.
Hobart is only one-and-ahalf
hour's drive from White
Beach, so a day trip to take
in the sights of Hobart is also
an option. Along the way stop
at Taranna. The Chocoholics
will delight at the Federation
Chocolate Factory and
animal lovers will enjoy the
Tasmanian Devil Conservation
Park, where you can see
the Tassie Devil and feed
kangaroos. |
